THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS OF PAST CLIENTS

My thanks to clients, friends and others who have purchased my work. If my work inspires you in some positive way, please send an email and we will post it here on these “ Acknowledgment “ pages. Again, with thanks

Lawrie's work is amazing! His unique style, vision, and use of colour go hand-in-hand with his painstaking use of pointillism. I love having his work displayed in my classroom as an inspiration to my students, and in my home as an inspiration to me!

Hi Lawrie My wife and I have just returned from our working/holiday tour through BC with a couple of your pen and ink originals in our possession. We were the ones that purchased the Red Barn & Entrance Island Study at the ferry terminal and sure are glad we did! It was a bit providential that we found you. My grandfather, spending most of his life as a dairy farmer in BC would have approved. (Incidentally his grandfather was a ship builder on the east coast and would have probably hung "Entrance Island " in his den.)

Your work is original and skillful which I don't think you always find together in art these days.

Lawrie, Your art, "Seeding" in particular, really struck a personal chord for me. I can imagine that anyone would be able to find a piece that resonates with them because they are each so dynamic and powerful in their own way. Can't wait to see more. Let me know where I can find you in the winter months or when you come to Victoria. Thanks!

Lawrie's work engages me. Not only does his technical style feed my engineering soul but some of his inspiration comes from areas around BC familiar to me through my own travels.

After a fortuitous encounter with Lawrie and his display while waiting for a ferry, I became the proud owner of the original of “Sunset at Monte Creek” – a piece which captures the arid, Ponderosa pine dotted vistas around the Kamloops region, made even more poignant as the mountain pine beetle makes its presence known. It is a wonderfully evocative work.

Lawrie and I worked together some years ago, through troubled times, and I am very pleased to now have his artwork as a representation of the silver lining. Many thanks, Lawrie.

I have your “A New Day” (artist’s proof) on display and it captures my attention daily.

Lawrie, one day you will be discovered. Some the new originals are quite incredible.
Anita Egmont, BC

You may remember me as the person you trusted at the ferry terminal to pay for the prints as I did not have enough Canadian currency. I just love your work, and gave away as gifts all the prints that I bought from you at that time. So I am now at last getting my own pictures. I shall be ordering more in time.

I'm a graphic designer specializing in data visualization based in Ottawa. I found your site by Googling for "changing" images. Your “ Seeding “ piece is really beautiful.

We appreciated running into your sales stand at the BC Ferries – we had no intention of buying anything, just passing time, when we saw your striking work; I like the concept “changing realities”, and we both appreciated the colour and symmetry of your work. We have a small place, so room for art is limited, but we have been changing things around, and the original drawing “ Shade Bay” works were ideal for our needs. I find your stuff upbeat and inviting, and reminded me a little of some close-up black and white photography I used to do, capturing rock textures, wood detail and flowing water. We will keep an eye open in future, and direct any of our friends who admire the works. Best wishes in your vocation.
