Projects Lawrie's Been Involved In
I met Shane and Lisa Philip in Nanaimo a few years ago. After some
conversation, it came up that Shane plays
a musical instrument called a Didgeridoo. The instrument originates in
Australia. Also originating there are the
“ Dreamtime “ paintings by the Aborigine People. For the most part, “Dreamtime”
images are comprised
of dot’s of color and depict stories and spiritual folklore of the Aborigine
People. We thought that
it would be a good mix to use some of my stylized landscape artwork for Shane’s
stylized playing
of the Didgeridoo. The CD “ Earthshake ” features my “ Seeding “ image on the
cover

Below is an excerpt from Shane’s website about his style of playing ..check it
out !
"Shane weaves resonant didgeridoo grooves with drums, guitar and voice to
create a totally unique
and organic sound. Borrowing and combining elements of reggae, ska, folk, funk,
blues and rock,
Shane writes songs about love, peace, and the human experience."
